At 220,000sqm, Indonesia Convention Exhibition(ICE) is the venue for major meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions(MICE) events in Indonesia.
ICE is nestled in the upscale development of Bumi Serpong Damai(BSD) City, South Tangerang. The town is managed by PT BSD, part of the renowned Sinar Mas Group. In ICE’s vicinity are the biggest names in entertainment, accommodation, retail, finance and education.
From large-scale weddings to world-class trade shows, every event under ICE’s roof is bound for success because of its strong infrastructure, versatile layout and capable in-house personnel.
To produce the futuristic multi-convex roof, NS BlueScope Lysaght Indonesia did a 1:1 mock-up to ensure the possibility of on-site rollforming and curving. This exercise paid off when the team managed to complete the project within the relatively short lead time of 1 year.
Housing it all is the FLEX-LOK® Roofing System made from Gull-Grey COLORBOND® steel. It’s a structural architectural roofing panel that’s mechanically field-seamed for water tightness and resistance to wind uplift - perfect for the humid tropical weather. It even comes with an inbuilt thermal bridge to accommodate thermal expansion.
ICE is cladded with LYSAGHT® TRIMDEK® ceiling that comes with trapezoidal ribs and subtle fluting in the pan to achieve an avant-garde look. It’s available in several finishes and colours to meet project expectations.
The intelligent use of COLORBOND® steel has supported the reduction of energy consumption. For all its advantages, ICE BSD City has won numerous awards and accolades such as The 8th Indonesia MICE Awards 2015 for Best Exhibition Hall, COLORBOND® 2017 Award for Best Building Performance Category and FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards 2017 for Purpose Built Category.
